Definable history limit?

I didn't see a setting for this, but I noticed that in the popout view, the message buffer is quite long and results in a very choppy scrolling display. unreadable as a matter of fact, so if a lot of users are posting replies it flashes and scrolls, flashes and scrolls, etc.. When the history buffer is not that much it seems to scroll nicer. Can we get an option to set the max (ie 20 messages)

Re: Definable history limit?

In addition, for the Host settings in 2.1.2, it would be really great not just to limit the "Number Previous Messages" but also instead a starting date, i.e. for a scheduled chat, all late comers are able to view the chat, that has already taken place without asking the same questions again.

Re: Definable history limit?

Yes, I would like to see a configurable "age" for the previous messages that a user sees when they come into chat.

For example, if I have the previous message count set to 20, I would like to also be able to set a timelimit  to 5 minutes, so that it only shows the portion of the previous 20 posts that were made in the last 5 minutes.

This is useful if someone accidentally closes chat and you want them to be able to see what was said recently so they don't miss anything, but you don't want old conversations hanging around for days when the chat room isn't being used...

Thanks

Jason
