Unable to contact server, please try again in a few moments. 

DNN version 4.3.5

Latest SWIRL version 1.9.2

Everything installed no errors....

Changed the webconfig file because the where no buttons for AJAX enabling and installing the license key(s)

When send a message to the chatroom "Unable to contact server, please try again in a few moments.

appears.

 

Does this module request a service wich is not authorized ??

Tell me...

Problem found....

the cache from DNN....

Button for AJAX enable and keys available....the module is now working perfect...

I am getting this same behavior.   What about the cache was the problem/solution?

I'm not sure about the cache in DNN, but you can try to goto:
Host > Host Settings
and click on "Resart Application".

Then, try the "Enable Ajax.NET".  (You must be logged in as Host to see the Enable Ajax.NET options) in the Module menu.

I manually checked (and changed) the web.config file....still getting the same behavior.   I've rectivated the portal.  I've cleared the DNN cache.   Is there some setting I need to ask the ISP to check?

The chat module is on a page visible to 'registered users' only.  Could that be part of the issue?  (even though I'm registered, logged in as host)

Several other things......I am never presented with the dialog where you can enter a screen name like in the oneline demo and my username doesn't appear in the list of online users.

When I check the logs, there are numerous entries from other users who have logged in to the chat room......or at least tried to.  I don't know what kind of interaction they have had, only that they were there.

Jill,

It sounds like the Ajax provider is not fully activated.  Can you send a copy of the Web.Config (please remove the SiteSQLServer information for security reasons) to our support desk at:  support@swirlhost.com.  Also, if you can provide a URL and a username who can access the page we can run some HTTP troubleshooting to see what might be causing the problem.
