Filtered Words disabled?

Hello,

We have installed the chat client (2.01.03) on two DNN sites (two separate licenses).  In both cases, we would like to specifiy filtered words.  We have tried using our own, actual, list of words to filter as well as using the sample string in the usage guide: dang, darn, bad, words, etc.  We enter these strings in the 'Host Settings' window, and for good measure have then refrehsed our browser window and even restarted the DNN application all in hopes of getting chat to recognise and use our new list of filtered words.

Thus far, no word has been filtered.

Do we need to do something to enable word filtering?

Thanks,
Randy

Re: Filtered Words disabled?

Well, actually, the words are most likely being filtered, but you can't really tell with only one user in the room.  The reason is this:  the person typing the "dirty words" will actually see their words on the screen, like "dang", "darn", etc. but OTHER people will NOT.  The OTHER people (users in the chatroom) will only see **** instead of the dirty word.  It is kind of confusing and we are working on clearing up that confusion.  However, if this doesn't answer your question, and you are still seeing problems with this feature, please open a ticket with our helpdesk:  support@swirlhost.com , and we'll make sure the problem gets corrected.  Thanks!
